2002 Season :

- He spent the campaign with three different teams : the Florida Marlins, Montreal Expos and Boston Red Sox.
- He began the season with the Marlins, where in 84 games in the outfield, he had a 0.983 fielding percentage with five assists.
- Over the first 37 games of the season he hit 0.326 with 13 home runs and 29 RBI's.
- He Hit 10 home runs and drove in 20 runs over the month of April.
- At the All-Star break he ranked 12th in the NL in home runs with 18 and ninth in the NL in on-base percentage (0.413).
- Before being traded by the Marlins, he led the team in home runs (18), RBI (57), walks (56) and on-base percentage (0.413).
- On July 11th he was traded to the Expos, where he played in only 15 games, before he was traded to the Red Sox on July 30th.
- He started in 19 games as a Designated Hitter for the Red Sox.
- He hit safely in nine of his last 10 games of the season, hitting 0.475 with eight doubles over that span.
- He had five multi-hit games in his first seven starts with the Red Sox.
- He hit back-to-back home runs with Manny Ramirez on August 4th at Texas.
- October 29, 2002 : His class to become a free agent.
- December 7, 2002 : The Boston Red Sox offered Floyd the arbitrary salary but he refused.

- Donated $2,500 to The Starting Place, a drug intervention program for teenagers, in 1998 and 1999.
- In 1999, he donated $250 to the Marlins Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) program for every home run he hit and base he stole over the season, totaling $4,000 ... Served as the Honorary Chairman for the Marlins program, donating $9,500 to the program in 2000.
- Donated $2,500 to both the American Lung Association and the Kidney Foundation of South Florida in 2000, serving as a spokesperson for the American Lung Association's "Strike Out Asthma" program.
